Sequential supercriticalcarbondioxide(scCO2)depositionwasusedtodepositPdnanoparticlesonPt/BP2000resultinginPdPt/BP2000withPt:Pdatomicratiosvaryingbetween 2:1and1:4.Theaverageparticlesizedecreasedandtheparticlesizedistributionbecame narrowerwithincreasingPtcontent.Thesmallparticleswithsizesbetween1and4nm werefoundtoberichinPtandparticleslargerthan5nmwerefoundtoberichinPd.The cyclicvoltammetryforhydrogenoxidationreactionindicatedthat thePtPd/BP2000 (2:1) catalysthadthehighest ESA. Theshapesof thevoltammograms forall Pdcontaining catalystsresembledtheshapeof thevoltammogramsof thePt/BP2000catalystafter300 cyclesduetothedissolutioningof thePdfromthecatalystsurface.Thestabilityof the prepared catalystswas further evaluated by accelerated degradation tests including potentialcycling(0.6e1.2V)andpotentialholdingtests.TheORRactivitydecreasedafter potentialcyclingforallthecatalysts.
