dc.description.abstract | Unique and ever-changing characteristics of digital markets have led competition authorities across the globe to focus on new elements and new tools in antitrust regulation and implementation. Over the last decade, the Turkish Competition Council has adopted several decisions regarding digital platforms. The significance and impact of these decisions and increasing use of interim measures have drawn attention to the need for introducing new more adapted rules for digital markets to enable ex ante intervention. This chapter examines the development of competition case law and policy in digital markets in Türkiye. The first section consists of an analysis of the relevant case law which reveals the approach of the Turkish Competition Council to abusive conduct of digital platforms. The second section briefly looks at the key findings of sector inquiry reports carried out by the Council. The final section examines the proposed amendment to the Turkish Competition Act and draws parallels to the case law and sector inquiry reports in digital markets. © 2025 selection and editorial matter, Muzaffer Eroğlu, Matthias Finger and Emin Köksal;individual chapters, the contributors. | |
