Abstract

Maze-type magnetic domains in iron garnet films exhibit extraordinary dynamic responses to Tesla-order magnetic field pulses with nanosecond durations. Through micromagnetic simulations, we found that these magnetic domains oscillate at gigahertz frequencies through repeated domain expansion and shrinking. The oscillation frequency and amplitude respond nonlinearly to the pulse amplitude and width, enabling this system to function as a magnetic field-to-frequency converter. We also demonstrate a technique for sustaining continuous oscillations. These results provide insights into key functionalities for next-generation high-frequency magnetic device applications.
