Good old days in the RKC lab

Abstract

Here is what I remember from those happy days in New Haven, Connecticut, USA. How did I end up in the RKC Lab? During the beginning of PhD studies at Yale University, as new graduate students, we had to find a PhD thesis advisor, specifically for the first summer break. Stress, stress! Towards the end of the fall term, there were open houses in pretty much in all the research groups, Dr. Carol Wood presented the RKC Lab, as Richard was on a trip, (later on we would learn that, this was quite typical of him) I was very much impressed by the RKC Lab, lasers! lasers! and wanted to join an optics lab, or an electronics lab, and RKC Lab with all its fancy lasers looked wonderful
