dc.description.abstractThis chapter is part of a larger ethnographic study conducted in one of the leading Turkish rehabilitation hospitals in Istanbul during 2013 to explore social constructions of disability and the experiences of disabled people themselves with these constructions. The fieldwork highlighted the role of the family in rehabilitation and in the social construction of disability during rehabilitation, which is the main focus of this chapter.
