Abstract

Background CVD (cardiovascular disease) is the leading cause of death according to the World Health Organisation (WHO). It is known that there are more than three hundred risk factors for CVD, smoking and alcohol consumption, sedentary life or lack of physical activity, poor eating habits, obesity and malnutrition, age, gender, family history of heart disease can be listed as the most important risk factors. In the literature, it was reported that the level of knowledge and awareness of CVD and risk factors is low. For this reason, it is important to evaluate risk factors regularly and to create disease awareness. Moreover, awareness at a young age is important in preventing CVD, which may develop in the following years.
