The role of surgery in infertility, an evidence-based approach

Abstract

This chapter presents the role of surgery in infertility, an evidence-based approach. Congenital or acquired abnormalities of female reproductive tract can affect fertility. While some abnormalities like bilateral tubal obstruction clearly prevent pregnancy, the effects of most anatomic abnormalities and their surgical treatment on fertility are not as clear. We will briefly review these in the chapter.
