| dc.description.abstract | Percutaneous mitral valve repair with Mitraclip remains to be the preferred therapy for those patients with congestive heart failure with severe mitral regurgitation who are deemed high-surgical risk. Failure of successful MR reduction, preprocedural NYHA functional class III-IV, elevated ProBNP levels, presence of severe tricuspid regurgitation, pulmonary hypertension, right ventricular dysfunction and advanced age seems to be predictors of long term mortality. Preprocedural patient characteristics needs to be carefully evaluated for optimal patient selection for Mitraclip therapy. | |
