dc.description.abstractWe present an evaluation of some recent attempts to understand the role of pseudo-Hermitian and PT-symmetric Hamiltonians in modelling unitary quantum systems and elaborate on a particular physical phenomenon whose discovery originated in the study of complex scattering potentials.
