dc.description.abstract | The energy sector is a high-cost and high-emission sector. With the demanding environmental regulations, the energy producing companies must find new solutions continuously to decrease emissions while satisfying the energy demand. It was shown in previous studies that collaboration by exchanging steam among the energy companies can create synergy both in environmental and economical criteria. In addition to collaboration, transition to new technologies is necessary to satisfy environmental regulations. This paper presents an, analysis of the expected gains in a collaborative setting with an environmentally friendly fuel alternative, biodiesel. The problem is modeled as a Mixed-Integer Linear Programming. The results of the solutions are analyzed indicating the benefits of collaboration. | |
