| dc.description.abstract | Problem-solving therapy (PST) is a cognitive-behavioral intervention approach used both in various psychopathologies and in coping with distress caused by stressful life events. PST aims to enable individuals to identify problems in life correctly and produce appropriate solutions. In this context, positive problem orientation characteristics such as seeing the problem as an opportunity, believing that the problem can be solved, and accepting that the solution requires time and effort are tried to be developed. In addition, it aims to acquire a rational problem-solving style, which refers to approaching the problem purposefully and systematically by carefully collecting information about the problem. It consists of eight process steps in which the client actively participates. It has been proven effective in treating many psychopathological disorders, such as depression and anxiety, as well as reducing the psychological distress caused by physical diseases. | |
