Abstract

Gender equality is one of the major goals in the social development of XXI century. In this work we analyzed the role of gender in the adoption of college studies focused on scientific and technical fields, with emphasis on engineering studies. As is apparent, it is necessary to continue to promote such studies in order to achieve those objectives of equality. An ongoing survey is described to investigate the factors of gender segregation in this career. It is also proposed to transfer to the classroom measures that encourage the presence of women in electrical engineering.

One in three people live without sanitation. This is causing unnecessary disease and death. Although huge strides have been made with access to clean drinking water, lack of sanitation is undermining these advances. If we provide affordable equipment and education in hygiene practices, we can stop this senseless suffering and loss of life.

Too much of the world’s wealth is held by a very small group of people.This often leads to financial and social discrimination. In order for nations to flourish, equality and prosperity must be available to everyone – regardless of gender, race, religious beliefs or economic status.
