The mass and the dilaton and axion charges are determined and a BPS bound is derived. There exists a one-parameter family of black hole solutions in the scale-invariant limit. © 2002 The American Physical Society.Publication Restricted Construction of a consistent quantum mechanical system with non-hermitian set of opeartors(Koç University, 2006) Özçelik, Seher; Mostafazadeh, Ali; 0000-0002-0739-4060; Koç University Graduate School of Sciences and Engineering; Mathematics; 4231Publication Metadata only Fundamentals and applications of heat currents in quantum systems(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2024) Department of Physics; Naseem, Muhammad Tahir; Müstecaplıoğlu, Özgür Esat; Department of Physics; College of Sciences; Graduate School of Sciences and EngineeringThe growing field of quantum thermodynamics has attracted much attention in the last two decades. The possibility of exploiting quantum features in thermal machines led to exciting avenues both from fundamental and application perspectives. For instance, in the presence of non-thermal baths, a quantum heat engine may surpass the classical Carnot limit. On the other hand, heat flow puts severe restrictions on the miniaturization of technologies based on quantum features. It is of paramount importance to look for efficient methods of heat management in the quantum system. One promising direction can be employing heat for powering these devices rather than considering the heat flow as noise. In this chapter, we briefly overview such strategies proposed for efficient heat flow management in the recent past. In particular, we present some of the developments in quantum thermal diodes, thermal transistors, and quantum thermal entanglement machines. In addition, some discussion on the particular models of quantum heat engines and quantum absorption refrigerators is presented. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.Publication Restricted Non-associative quantum mechanics and Jordan Algebras(Koç University, 2024) Yörük, Ekin Sıla; Dereli, Tekin; 0000-0002-6244-6054; Koç University Graduate School of Sciences and Engineering; Physics; 201358Publication Restricted Quantum information transfer between photon fields coupled to an ensemble of cyclic quantum systems(Koç University, 2011) Khosravani, Omid; Müstecaplıoğlu, Özgür Esat; 0000-0002-9134-3951; Koç University Graduate School of Sciences and Engineering; Physics; 1674Publication Restricted Quantum key distribution protocols(Koç University, 2010) Güngördü, Utkan; Dereli, Tekin; 0000-0002-6244-6054; Koç University Graduate School of Sciences and Engineering; Physics; 201358Publication Restricted Quantum mechanics of a single photon(Koç University, 2016) Babaei, Hassan; Mostafazadeh, Ali; 0000-0002-0739-4060; Koç University Graduate School of Sciences and Engineering; Physics; 4231Publication Restricted Quantum superposition phenomena in chemistry within the perspective of quantum information theory(Koç University, 2023) Yeşiller, Mahir Hüseyin; Müstecaplıoğlu, Özgür Esat; 0000-0002-9134-3951; Koç University Graduate School of Sciences and Engineering; Physics; 1674
