| dc.description.abstract | The world's total number of women aged 50 years and older is estimated to reach 1.6 billion by 2050. The increase in the aging population has very important implications for economics and human health. Because life expectancy of women is more than 80years in developed countries, women will spend more than one third of their lives in the postmenopausal period. This chapter discusses the most frequent health problems associated with aging in women. | |
