Abstract

In orthopedic surgeries with iliac crest bone graft (ICBG), pain from ICBG may exceed the primary surgical site. The transversalis fascia plane block (TFPB) has been shown to be effective for pain from iliac crest bone harvest. In literature, there are combinations of TFPB with upper extremity blocks. In our clinic, we used TFPB in both the pediatric and adult populations to alleviate pain regarding ICBG. We used it safely, combined with upper or lower extremity blocks as well. Regarding total local anesthetic dosage, we increased the time between blocks or decreased the local anesthetic concentration.
