Abstract

Brazilian studies in International Law are characterized by a low degree of methodological basis and by a lack of critical scientific approach to contemporary international juridical institutions. Based on a qualitative analysis of documents (secondary sources) grounded on a dialectical and historical critical thinking, the text presents the foundations of a scientific methodology for the study of international legal institutions based on a critical-sociological approach of law. Those foundations of a critical sociological analysis of international legal institutions will contribute to the development in Brazil of the conditions of possibility for effective (pure and applied) scientific knowledge of International Law based on tensive-dialectics criticism.
