Abstract

A series of polydimethylsiloxane-polyurea segmented copolymers are synthesized and the surface properties of their blends with polyamid-6 are using water contact angle measurements and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The effect of the composition and the amount of the siloxane-copolymer additive in the blends and the thermal history of the samples on the surface microstructure and properties are determined. Permanency of the surface modification is demonstrated.
