Publication Metadata only Benchmark replication portfolio strategies(Palgrave Macmillan Ltd, 2013) Zolotoy, Leon; Department of Business Administration; Glabadanidis, Paskalis; Faculty Member; Department of Business Administration; College of Administrative Sciences and Economics; N/AWe propose a novel approach to the benchmark replication problem that uses a minimum tracking error variance as an objective subject to a target expected outperformance. When no budget constraint is imposed on the replicating portfolio, the solution is a two-fund portfolio involving the standard hedge portfolio and the tangent portfolio constructed using the replicating securities. In the presence of a budget constraint, the solution is a three-fund portfolio, which includes, in addition, the minimum variance portfolio constructed using the replicating securities. We implement our theoretical results using recent data for three widely followed US stock indices with very good out-of-sample performance.Publication Metadata only Business, ethics and institutions the evolution of Turkish capitalism in a comparative perspective(Routledge, 2020) Jones, Geoffrey; N/A; Çolpan, Aslı M.; Other; College of Administrative Sciences and Economics; N/AN/APublication Metadata only Creating a functioning European Union(Palgrave, 2011) Department of Business Administration; Akdeniz, Özlem Olgu; Teaching Faculty; Department of Business Administration; College of Administrative Sciences and Economics; 113156Publication Metadata only Development of business groups and entrepreneurship the Koc Group in global perspective(Routledge, 2020) Jones, Geoffrey; N/A; Çolpan, Aslı M.; Other; College of Administrative Sciences and Economics; N/AN/APublication Metadata only Do size labels have a common meaning among consumers?(Taylor and Francis Ltd, 2011) Krishna, Aradhna; Wansink, Brian; Department of Business Administration; Aydınoğlu, Nilüfer Zümrüt; Faculty Member; Department of Business Administration; College of Administrative Sciences and Economics; 114037Publication Metadata only Duality of language as a tool for integration versus mobility at work: utility of a polyphonic perspective(Edward Elgar Publishing Ltd, 2023) Erbil, Cihat; Baglama, Sercan Hamza; Department of Business Administration; Özbilgin, Mustafa; Department of Business Administration; College of Administrative Sciences and EconomicsN/APublication Metadata only Economic development and its impact on Turkish banking sector(IGI Global, 2015) Department of Business Administration; Akdeniz, Özlem Olgu; İpek, Hatice; Teaching Faculty; Master Student; Department of Business Administration; College of Administrative Sciences and Economics; Graduate School of Social Sciences and Humanities; 113156; N/AThis chapter aims to understand the impact of major macroeconomic and regulatory changes on the Turkish banking sector. In one field experiment and three scenario-based studies, we show that disclosing dish-specific calorie information on a menu is more effective in lowering the total calorie of meal orders when food is ordered in the company of others. We further demonstrate that the joint effect of calorie posting and social context on food choice occurs due to anticipated embarrassment as ordering an indulgent, high-calorie meal interferes with impression management concerns in these dining contexts. Consumers order lower-calorie meals to circumvent social embarrassment. Recognizing the importance of impression management concerns during food choice, our research sheds light on previous mixed findings regarding the effectiveness of calorie posting on menus by demonstrating when and why consumers might use caloric information when making food choices.Publication Metadata only Embodiment of tacit knowledge as an insrument of competitive strength in the cultural markets: an example of Antakya(Pressacademia, 2016) Örs, Husniye; Sürmeli, Pelin; PhD Student; Graduate School of Business; N/AWith the effects of globalization that more and more has homogenized markets, consumers have begun to prefer to experiment events they perceive differently in social, cultural, geographic, technologic etc. areas. This leaning has made local and cultural factors preferential in particular in the tourism market. The cultural factors embodied in revealing the tacit knowledge behind these factors, that are the subject of the cultural market, have become the qualities of attraction sought in cultural tourism. In this context, the aim of this research is to determine the tacit knowledge factors behind the cultural market values of Antakya which is a city existing since the Paleolithic Period to the present time and, in this way, bring these factors to the global tourism market. This research conducted with the in-depth interview method has come to the conclusion that kunefe (kunefah) making, silk weaving and laurel soap making is tacit knowledge original to the region while stone carving is tacit knowledge genuine to the individual.Publication Metadata only Ethics and corruption contrasting perspectives of the general public and business community in Turkey(Routledge, 2020) Department of International Relations; Çarkoğlu, Ali; Faculty Member; Department of International Relations; Koç University Center for Survey Research (KUCSR) / Koç Üniversitesi Saha Araştırmaları Merkezi (KUSAM); College of Administrative Sciences and Economics; 125588N/A
